  24. F.Y.I. SGI's tools generally save ".mv" files not ".mov" files.

  29. It really depends on what version of IRIX you're using. All of the Movie tools
  30. that come with IRIX 5.3 support saving Quick Time movies in the formats
  31. "Animation" or "Video". I'm no Apple QT guru but I BELIEVE the video version
  32. of QT is a bit more compressed. Use the "Animation Version" if you plan on
  33. using the import QT in Adobe Premiere as you get higher quality frames. And
  34. yes, movieconvert or moviemaker will generate single frames from an SGI movie.
  35. Note: the moviemaker tool compresses the images on creation of the movie so
  36. any frames you extract.. expect some loss. Really best off with orig. frames.
